Leading up to The Game Awards 2025, there was a lot of mystery surrounding a statue placed at Joshua Tree National Park in California. That statue turned out to be the Hellstone, and it’s related to Larian Studios’ next game, Divinity. No, this isn’t Divinity: Original Sin 3, as some people suspected. This brand new game set in the world of Rivellon is simply titled Divinity, and it’ll be Larian’s most ambitious title yet. While it will serve as a new game that doesn’t require experience with previous Larian titles, the studio did say that those who have played Divinity: Original Sin and Divinity: Original Sin 2 will enjoy greater understanding and continuity.
For now, what we have is a pretty epic and gruesome cinematic trailer introducing the game. Both the press release and the game’s website are light on details, simply saying that Larian Studios is unchaining its ambitions to bring an RPG with greater breadth and depth than ever before. No word yet on platforms or release window, but we can safely assume it’s still a few years away. Given how great Baldur’s Gate 3 was, though, it’s easy to see why so many are excited for Larian’s next title.

“Despite our long history with the series, this is our first game entitled ‘Divinity.’ We’re ready to bring everything we’ve done previously into one place,” said Swen Vincke, founder and game director of Larian Studios. “This marks the beginning of something with more breadth, depth, and intimacy than anything we’ve created before. We’ve been building toward this moment ever since we took our fate into our own hands. This is the Divinity we’ve always wanted to make and you’re going to have loads of fun with it.”
