Backbone and Xbox have teamed up to roll out the Backbone Pro Xbox Edition, available starting today for $179.99. The controller is designed for nearly any screen you may use for gaming, whether it’s a phone, tablet, PC, TV, or streaming device. It features full-size ALPS thumbsticks, laser-etched textured grips, Hall Effect triggers, and rear buttons. The versatile controller offers two ways to play: Handheld Mode and Wireless Mode. In Handheld Mode, your phone is physically connected via USB-C, delivering low-latency gaming with no charging required. For Wireless Mode, the Backbone Pro connects via Bluetooth Low Energy, allowing it to connect to a wide range of devices.

With the Backbone App, users can personalize their experience with custom profiles, button remapping, and easy device switching with FlowState. A simple tap can move the controller from screen to screen if you want to switch from phone to PC to TV. The app also supports Apple Arcade, Steam Link, and other controller-friendly mobile titles. At $179.99, the Backbone Pro Xbox Edition isn’t cheap, but it does include one month of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, which is now worth $29.99.
