From the team behind three consecutive #1 car games comes Auto Legends, backed by $8 million in funding from Horacio Pagani, Miller Motorcars, Niccolo De Masi, former CEO of Glu Mobile, and others. Developed by Autoverse Studios Inc., Auto Legends focuses on high-stakes competitive drag racing, with an emphasis on social play, real asset ownership, thrilling tournaments, team competition, virtual and real-life prizes, and nearly endless car customization and tuning. Currently in closed alpha, the game will make its public debut at gamescom, which officially begins on August 21, 2024.

Auto Legends will eventually be available on Android, iOS, and PC and will support a true player economy with the integration of web3 mechanics. This means players can master performance tuning, own car dealerships, and manage race crews, all while monetizing their in-game activities. The initial play environment will be set in Southern California, featuring familiar sights for locals. Similar to real-life car culture, players will have the opportunity to become true Auto Legends in what they enjoy most, whether it’s racing, tuning, customizing, building teams, car collecting, or more.

The team consists of industry veterans from Cie Games, Glu Mobile, Riot Games, Xbox, EA, Ubisoft, and Scopely. Previous car games from the team include Nitto 1320 Legends, Car Town, and Racing Rivals. The three games collectively reached 140 million players and were top auto games on their respective platforms.

“When we started Autoverse Studios, we wanted to not only evolve the straight-line racing category, but also revolutionize the games industry as a whole with new social gameplay mechanics, creator support, and enabling players to own and trade their in-game assets,” said Peter Pham, Autoverse Studios CEO. “Players love creating their own parts, trading cars, providing services to each other, hosting tournaments – and we are putting all of that officially into the game. We’re using web3 technology to do this in a way that is entirely invisible to players.”

Those interested can register for the beta at the game’s website and join the discussion on the Auto Legends Discord community.
