Ubisoft has shared its summer 2025 roadmap for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, saying it’s all about progression this summer. Starting on July 29, players can finally enjoy New Game+, which will unlock as soon as they complete the final story mission. The mode will reset Story and Objective Board progression, along with discovered locations. However, character level, gear, skill points, Knowledge rank, and Hideout progression will carry over. Players can start from the very beginning or fast-forward to after the prologue when Naoe inherits ownership of the Hideout. Regardless of which option is chosen, New Game+ won’t have any of the basic tutorials.
As for progression, the level cap is increasing from 60 to 80 for all players, and the increased cap is not locked behind New Game+. To go along with the level cap increase are new Knowledge Ranks, new Mastery and Knowledge Skill ranks, and new upgrades for all Hideout buildings, including Heiji’s Forge. The first upgrade will come with the New Game+ patch, and the other will be added in a later summer update. The July 29 update will also add Project 3 with new resources, data files, and exclusive Animus-themed rewards.
The team will then focus on a quality-of-life improvement update, currently scheduled for the beginning of September. Available for free to all players, this update will include several highly requested features:
- The world map unfogging after completing viewpoint synchronization (per region).
- The ability to skip time-of-day, jumping ahead to dusk or dawn.
- A new Forge upgrade level to reach Mythic (from Epic) and Artifact (from Legendary) equipment rarities.
- Hideout Updates and Upgrades.
- Uncapped framerate for cutscenes (PC only).
- Additional goodies that may be familiar to long-time series fans.
- Further bug fixes and stability improvements.
Lastly, on September 16, the Claws of Awaji expansion launches. Those who preordered Assassin’s Creed Shadows will get access to it for free. Content from the expansion unlocks only after completing the main story, and we’ll learn more about it in the near future.
Ubisoft also announced that the Assassin’s Creed Shadows Development Team is hosting a Reddit AMA on August 12.
