Developer Aggro Crab has announced that Another Crab’s Treasure: Year of the Crab is set to launch on April 21. It’s a free content update that adds one of the most highly requested features from the community: new game plus. It won’t be your traditional new game plus, though, as the team didn’t just scale up enemy stats. Instead, they’ve added new moves to bosses, some new items, and even remixed nearly every encounter in the game. To balance the changes, players will be able to upgrade their fork and stowaway weight even higher, with new game plus offering four stowaway slots. There are also new exclusive stowaways for new game plus, called the Sigils.

Along with new game plus, players will be able to refight any defeated boss through combat memories from any Moon Snail Shell. Year of the Crab also adds a boss rush mode with a variety of themed sequential fights. Beating these trials will result in various rewards, including new costumes. The Museum will also open again for business, and inside players will find a bestiary with an updated display of all enemies players have encountered and defeated in their journey. The team is also teasing that there’s a new boss fight coming as part of the free content update. Finally, Steam players are getting new achievements and community trading cards. For console players, physical versions of Another Crab’s Treasure are coming thanks to iam8bit sometime this year.
