Following its wins for Best Game Direction, Best Narrative, and Best Art Direction at The Game Awards 2023, Alan Wake 2 is set to receive The Final Draft update next week. A major highlight of this update is the New Game Plus mode, which introduces a new ending to Alan Wake’s story. Developers have hinted that this ending will likely ignite speculation and theories among the game’s dedicated fanbase. In addition, the New Game Plus mode will feature new lore, in the form of several new videos and manuscript pages.

Players revisiting Alan Wake 2 in New Game Plus mode will retain all weapons, Charms, and character upgrades from their initial playthrough. For those seeking a challenge, the update introduces a new Nightmare Difficulty level. The update also includes numerous bug fixes and slight performance optimizations. Complete patch notes will be released next Monday.

The Final Draft update for Alan Wake 2 is slated to launch on Monday, December 11, 2023 at 10:00am Pacific (1:00pm Eastern) across all platforms.
