The handheld gaming PC market already has several options, from the Steam Deck OLED to the ASUS ROG Ally X, but now Acer is entering the competition with the Nitro Blaze 7. Powered by an AMD Ryzen 7 8840HS processor, Acer claims Ryzen AI will optimize performance and responsiveness across a wide range of games and applications. The device features a 7-inch, 1080p IPS touchscreen display with 144 Hz refresh rate backed by AMD FreeSync Premium. The Nitro Blaze 7 runs on Windows 11 and includes Acer Game Space, an application that supports games from other platforms.

Along with the Ryzen 7 8840HS processor, the handheld PC is powered by AMD Radeon 780M graphics and provides up to 2 TB of M.2 NVMe SSD storage and 16 GB LPDDR5x memory at 7500 MT/s. For connectivity, it supports Wi-Fi 6E and offers two USB4 Type-C ports with fast charging, along with a MicroSD card slot to expand storage. Battery capacity will be interesting at 50.04 Wh, compared to the ROG Ally X’s new 80 Wh capacity. Dimensions measure 25.6 cm by 11.35 cm by 2.25 cm and it tips the scales at 670 g.

Unfortunately Acer hasn’t announced pricing or availability, so stay tuned for that info.
