Classic gamers rejoice – a new Gauntlet is being developed by Arrowhead Game Studios. Innovating on the past titles while staying true to the brand’s legendary formula, the new Gauntlet will be heading to PC this summer as a top-down, co-op action RPG. Modernized for a new generation of gamers, the arcade classic will feature the same signature four classes as the original: Warrior, Valkyrie, Elf and Wizard. The new game will feature full Steam Machine and SteamOS support with local and online multiplayer with procedural dungeons and a refreshed art style.
For those not familiar with the classic game, players will battle through dungeons while completing challenges in order to survive longer in the Gauntlet. An assortment of items will be at their disposable including items to restore the players’ health, unlock the doors and shift the odds to their favor.
The original Gauntlet was created by Atari Games and was released in 1985.
