A few weeks ago, Riot Games confirmed 2XKO would enter Early Access on October 7 with the start of Season 0. A few days later, it revealed Teemo would be the tenth champ for the game. He won’t be alone for Season 0, though, as Warwick will also be a new champion for this initial Early Access season. Starting tomorrow, when 2XKO Early Access officially launches, there will be no more account resets, which means all champions and cosmetics are yours to keep. To celebrate the game’s launch, 2XKO released an official cinematic featuring Courtney LaPlante of Spiritbox performing Ties That Bind.
If you’re still wondering when 2XKO is heading to consoles, Riot will share an update when it has one. It did confirm that progress on PC will carry over to consoles when they are out, but there’s no confirmed date yet. If you’re fine playing on PC though, Patch 1.0.1 is slated to go live on October 7 at 8:00 AM Pacific (11:00 AM Eastern). Online play will be unavailable on October 9 between 8:00 AM Pacific (11:00 AM Eastern) and 12:00 PM Pacific (3:00 PM Eastern) while Patch 1.0.1.1 goes live.
Why are there two patches so close together? Well, Patch 1.0.1.1 will introduce Ranked mode on October 9, so the team wanted to include all of its adjustments and back-end improvements from the Closed Beta before turning on Ranked.
Those who participated in the Closed Beta are getting the exclusive Closed Beta Boss player title when Early Access starts, though it may take up to a week to appear in your account. Riot also shared that starting in Season 1, each season of 2XKO will launch with a new champion. For the initial three weeks of the season, the new champion can be obtained in the store for 1,000 KO Points, one Champion Token, or by purchasing the Ultra Battle Pass bundle. The champion can also be unlocked by completing a Recruitment Event. During these events, players can redeem Battle Pass XP to get the new champion for free, but this won’t be available for Season 0. After three weeks have passed, the new champion will be available for 10,000 Credits, 1,000 KO Points, or one Champion Token.
The official patch notes are rather lengthy, so they won’t be listed in this post. You’re better off seeing them in their entirety on 2XKO’s official website. There are some quality-of-life updates worth mentioning, including the Credits cap increasing from 10,000 to 12,000 and tweaked visuals for the assist meter. Early Access also introduces Combo Trials, a new type of tutorial where players can study combos for every champion.
