We just couldn’t make it out of 2025 without another video game delay, could we? IO Interactive has announced 007 First Light is being delayed two months and its new release date is now May 27, 2026. It’s the team’s most ambitious project to date, and in its desire to deliver an unforgettable James Bond experience, it has decided to move the release date to ensure the game meets the level of quality players deserve on day one. According to Hakan Abrak, CEO of IO Interactive, the game is fully playable from beginning to end, so the additional two months are being used to further polish and refine it.

007 First Light’s original release date of March 27 was announced in September, when IO Interactive and Sony hosted a State of Play Gameplay Deep Dive that showed off over 30 minutes of footage. The game reminds me a lot of the Uncharted series, with its blend of action, stealth, and driving sequences. It should be more interactive, though, considering Bond is normally outfitted with a wealth of gadgets.

We’ll learn more about 007 First Light in early 2026, when IO Interactive plans to share more updates.
