The Switch version of Square Enix’s life simulation RPG, Harvestella, is currently $34.99 at most major retailers, including Amazon, Best Buy, and GameStop. Originally released on November 4, 2022, Harvestella puts a spin on the genre that Stardew Valley made popular. The game is set in a vibrant and colorful world, where four giant crystals called Seaslight create a stable change between the four seasons. Things get interesting and your adventure in Harvestella begins when oddities in the Seaslight causes a season of death called Quietus, taking place between the naturally occurring four seasons. During Quietus, crops wither and people aren’t able to go outside.

Harvestella offers a bit more depth than something like Stardew Valley, and it has an interesting combat system that’s heavily inspired by classic JRPGs. There’s a job-based class system you’d expect to find in a Final Fantasy game, allowing you to choose from being a Fighter or a Mage, and many things in between. You’ll explore dungeons and fight various enemies as you try to figure out the truth behind the calamity.

The game debuted with modest reviews, but if you’re a fan of the genre and looking for something different, Harvestella might be satisfying enough — especially at this discounted price.
