Nintendo is running a limited-time promotion that adds a free bonus month to a 12-month Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership, effectively turning it into 13 months for the price of 12. To qualify, you’ll need to activate the offer and purchase or redeem an individual or family Expansion Pack membership before July 28, 2026, at 11:59 PM Pacific (July 29, 2026 at 2:59 AM Eastern). The bonus month then lands on your account within three business days of purchase. One per Nintendo Account.

The offer isn’t limited to new sign-ups, since existing members can take advantage of it as well. Anyone currently on the base Nintendo Switch Online tier can claim the bonus month by upgrading to Expansion Pack through the offer, while current Expansion Pack subscribers get it by renewing or adding another year to their membership. Existing plans can be extended up to 36 months total, including the free month.

In the U.S., Expansion Pack runs $49.99 a year for an individual plan and $79.99 for a family plan, compared to $19.99 and $34.99 for the base Nintendo Switch Online tiers. The upgrade adds the Nintendo 64, Game Boy Advance, SEGA Genesis, and Virtual Boy classic libraries, along with the Switch 2-exclusive GameCube collection and select DLC and Switch 2 Edition upgrade packs.

Beyond the U.S., the promotion is also live in Canada (excluding Quebec), Mexico, and several South American countries, with the activation button and full terms on Nintendo’s offer page.
