Microsoft has revealed the first wave of games heading to Xbox Game Pass in July 2023 and there are several to look forward to. Starting today, Grand Theft Auto V is available on both Cloud and Console and includes both the Xbox One and the Xbox Series X|S versions of the game. Also live is Sword and Fairy: Together Forever on Cloud, Console, and PC. This game is a fantasy action-adventure RPG that blends ancient mythology with traditional Chinese aesthetics.
Tomorrow, McPixel 3 (Cloud, Console, and PC) joins Xbox Game Pass as a “mind-blowing save-the-day adventure that sees the titular wanna-be hero avert one disaster after another at every turn using conventional yet entertaining methods of mayhem.” On July 11, two games will be added: Common’hood (Cloud, Console, and PC) and Insurgency: Sandstorm (PC). Then, on July 14, Exoprimal (Cloud, Console, and PC) is a day-one release on Game Pass. The Capcom game blends PvE and PvP combat with a variety of objectives so that no two matches play out the same. You’ll join up to take down hordes of dinosaurs in a series of wargames in this Overwatch meets Jurassic Park mashup.
July 18 adds another day one release with Techtonica (Cloud, Console, and PC). It’s a Game Preview title where players will dig into the sub-surface, bioluminescent world of a rogue alien planet to explore and construct factories. Techtonica can be enjoyed solo or in co-op and its gameplay should be familiar to those who have tried Satisfactory. Finally, The Cave (Cloud and Console) will also be available starting July 18. The adventure game comes from Ron Gilbert, creator of Monkey Island and Maniac Mansion. In it, players assemble a team of three from seven unlikely adventurers to explore the mysterious depths.
Several games are also getting DLC and updates in July, starting with Barbie and Ken’s vehicles being added in Forza Horizon 5 (available now). Players can, starting now, experience the FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia and New Zealand 2023 in FIFA 23 at no extra cost. The Hi-Fi Rush: Arcade Challenge! Update! is also currently live.
The Battle of Zhongyuan DLC for Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is also available now, while the Sniper Elite 5: Kraken Awakes DLC goes live on July 6.
Starting tomorrow, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can enjoy the EA Play Ultimate Team Pack in Madden NFL 23, as well as the Obsidian Banjo Pack in Sea of Thieves.

- Exo One (Cloud, Console, and PC)
- PAW Patrol The Movie: Adventure City Calls (Cloud, Console, and PC)
- Spelunky 2 (Cloud, Console, and PC)
