Pikmin 4 is set to arrive on July 21. However, if you want to refamiliarize yourself with the franchise, Nintendo did a surprise release of Pikmin 1 and Pikmin 2, remastered in HD. Both games are currently available on the Nintendo eShop individually, or as a bundle with both games at a discounted price. Those who want a physical copy with both games will have to wait until September 22.

These HD remasters offer fans of the franchise a chance to relive their favorite moments in stunning new detail and for newcomers to discover why Pikmin has been beloved for decades. The Pikmin series is famous for its unique strategy gameplay, where players control tiny creatures called Pikmin to navigate levels and solve puzzles. The games also feature an enchanting world filled with lush landscapes and inventive, adorable creatures.

Both Pikmin 1 and Pikmin 2 were originally released on the Nintendo Gamecube, with the first game arriving in 2001 and the second in 2004. Pikmin 3, which is also available on the Switch in the form of Pikmin 3 Deluxe, was originally a Wii U game. With all the Pikmin games now available on the Nintendo Switch following today’s release, fans can enjoy the complete journey from the beginning or jump straight into the latest adventure.
