As this generation’s games get bigger and bigger, requiring hundreds of GB in space, consoles shipping with 512GB of storage just isn’t cutting it anymore. Today, during Xbox Games Showcase 2023, Microsoft announced it is adding a 1TB Carbon Black version to the Xbox Series S lineup with a starting price of $349.99. Although console owners do have access to external storage options, it’s always nice to have the choice to purchase larger storage straight from the box.
The Carbon Black finish is the same matte black finish found on the Xbox Series X and Xbox Wireless Controller. Internally, nothing else about the Xbox Series S changes, except for the internal storage.
The console is set to officially launch on September 1, 2023 and it will be available for preorder later today at Xbox and the Microsoft Store (note: the links didn’t work at time of publishing, but these are the links provided by Microsoft).
