Street Fighter 6 is off to a hot start with Capcom confirming over one million players have logged into the game since its launch on June 2. The company also announced that, with the launch of Street Fighter 6, the Street Fighter series has now sold over 50 million units in total. To celebrate, a free profile title, “Just Picked Up SF6,” has been added to the game that players can now claim.

The latest entry in this storied fighting franchise adds a very robust single-player mode called World Tour. It’s essentially an RPG baked into a fighting game, complete with items and equipment you can upgrade for your custom avatar. In World Tour mode, your character can become a student of all your favorite fighters, allowing them to learn all of their skills. So yes, your avatar can fire off a Hadouken after doing Blanka’s signature rolling attack. The combinations are nearly endless.

In addition, Street Fighter 6 introduces a new controller layout called Modern. It significantly lowers the entry barrier to fighting games, simplifying the special moves and combos. Of course, the Classic control scheme is also available for seasoned veterans.

I spent most of my weekend enjoying Street Fighter 6’s World Tour mode and plan on publishing a review in the coming week.
