During today’s PlayStation Showcase, Konami confirmed Metal Gear Solid 3 is getting a remake and it’s going to be titled Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. Players will be able to discover the origin story of iconic military operative Snake and begin to unravel the plot of the legendary Metal Gear series.

Although the announcement trailer for the remake is brief, Konami did also reveal the Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1. That collection will include Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. The games will be the HD Collection versions and will be released sometime this fall. The purposeful Vol. 1 in the title suggests a Vol. 2 may arrive that could bring Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots to modern consoles.

No release dates for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater or the Master Collection Vol. 1 were announced.
