Resident Evil fans finally got the news they’ve been waiting for at Summer Game Fest 2025, when Capcom revealed Resident Evil Requiem, the next mainline entry in the horror franchise. Unfortunately, they’ll have to wait until February 27, 2026, to get their hands on it. There is, however, the possibility of another Resident Evil game releasing before then, as Aniplex has announced that JOYCITY Corporation (Gunship Battle: Total Warfare, Pirates of the Caribbean: Tides of War, 3on3 Freestyle) is collaborating with Capcom to develop Resident Evil Survival Unit, a mobile real-time strategy game.
While we’ll have to wait until July 10 at 3:00 PM Pacific (6:00 PM Eastern) to learn more, today’s announcement says the mobile title is a fresh take on the franchise and is designed to appeal to both longtime fans and new players. Resident Evil Survival Unit will be released globally across Japan, South Korea, North America, Europe, and Asia; however, we just don’t know when. Hopefully we’ll see some gameplay next week and learn more about the game’s release window.
