For gamers, the biggest release in June 2025 is the Nintendo Switch 2. The long-awaited successor to the extremely popular Nintendo Switch will finally hit shelves on June 5, and those fortunate enough to get their hands on one will have a good number of titles to look forward to playing. The biggest new release is Mario Kart World, but many existing third-party games, like Cyberpunk 2077, are being ported to the new console. We aren’t listing all of those in this post, but you can see a more comprehensive list on our video game release calendar.

There are plenty of other games for non-Nintendo fans or patient gamers who aren’t jumping on the Switch 2 on day one. As a group, we’re looking forward to Dune: Awakening on June 10, but I’m freeing up my calendar for Persona5: The Phantom X and Death Stranding 2: On the Beach—both of which are launching on the same day, June 26.

Mario Kart World

It’s no surprise the Nintendo Switch 2 is launching with a new Mario Kart game, considering Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has sold over 68 million copies in its lifetime. Nintendo knows Mario Kart will be a major success, even with a $79.99 price tag. Mario Kart World is hoping to justify its price tag with more features than we’ve seen yet in a Mario Kart title, including a Free Roam mode that allows players to drive wherever they want. It’s clear Mario Kart World is borrowing elements from the popular Forza Horizon series, and we can’t wait to get our hands on it.

Mario Kart World releases on June 5, 2025 for Switch 2.

Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma

Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma was on our list of the Top Games to Play in May 2025, but that’s because we missed the news that it was delayed until June 5 to coincide with the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2. The latest entry in the popular franchise is set in the eastern land of Azuma and stars Subaru and Kaguya as protagonists. Players will once again enjoy a blend of action RPG and life simulation elements, working to restore a village while farming and crafting.

Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma releases on June 5, 2025 for Switch, Switch 2, and PC.

Bravely Default Flying Fairy HD Remaster

I loved 2012’s Bravely Default on the Nintendo 3DS, so I’m excited to hear it’s getting a remastered version as a Switch 2 launch title. Bravely Default Flying Fairy HD Remaster upgrades character model textures and environments to HD, while the UI has been redesigned to function on a single screen. The team has also revamped how the game works online, while new features include all-new minigames. If you’re one of many who got their first taste of turn-based RPGs with Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, and you’re looking for more, Bravely Default Flying Fairy HD Remaster is definitely one to consider.

Bravely Default Flying Fairy HD Remaster releases on June 5, 2025 for Switch 2.

Dune: Awakening

Another title that was originally set to launch in May, Dune: Awakening, is now releasing on June 10, with a head start on June 5. From Funcom, the developers behind Conan Exiles, Dune: Awakening is a crafting survival MMO set in an alternate Dune universe where Paul Atreides was never born. Players will explore an open-world Arrakis, set up bases, and find a way to survive as they try to control spice. As a group, we’ve spent hundreds of hours in Conan Exiles over the years, so Dune: Awakening is one of our most anticipated games of the year.

Dune: Awakening releases on June 10, 2025 for PC.

Stellar Blade (PC)

Stellar Blade | Image: Shift Up

Originally launched as a PlayStation 5 exclusive on April 26, 2024, Shift Up’s action game is finally heading to PC with numerous enhancements, including ultrawide monitor support and unlocked frame rates. In my Stellar Blade review, I said the game was part brilliant and part frustrating, but as Shift Up’s first attempt at an AAA title, it’s a remarkable success. The game’s combat is fantastic, but the writing and characters leave a bit to be desired. Still, fans of games like Sekiro will have a lot to enjoy here, and we’re sure the modding community will make a few enhancements of their own. Fans of Shift Up’s mobile game, Goddess of Victory: Nikke, can also look forward to a collaboration event on the same day as Stellar Blade’s PC launch.

Stellar Blade (PC) releases on June 11, 2025 for PC.

FBC: Firebreak

Remedy Entertainment is getting into the world of multiplayer co-op games with FBC: Firebreak. It’s a three-player first-person shooter set within the Federal Bureau of Control (FBC), where players will need to work with others to tame paranatural crises across a variety of different locations. With a variety of weapons, tools, items, and augments, there are plenty of different loadouts to synergize with your teammates while finding something that fits your playstyle. FBC: Firebreak will also launch on day one on PC Game Pass and Game Pass Ultimate, as well as on the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog for Extra and Premium members.

FBC: Firebreak releases on June 17, 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Date Everything!

For something really different, there’s Date Everything!, which was originally slated to launch fittingly on Valentine’s Day, February 14. Unfortunately, the sandbox dating simulator got delayed, and hopefully there are enough players still looking for love this summer. The game features over 100 fully voice-acted, datable characters and branching narratives for each one, with at least three endings per character. If you’ve ever wanted to date your bed or smoke alarm, well, now’s your chance.

Date Everything! releases on June 17, 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC.

RAIDOU Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army

Raidou Kuzunoha returns in this remastered classic from Atlus. The original game, titled Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. The Soulless Army, comes from the studio behind Shin Megami Tensei, and the remastered version adds revamped visuals, quality-of-life updates, new voiceovers, and an overhauled battle system. RAIDOU Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army remains faithful to the original, but will modernize some of its systems for a new audience. If you’ve never heard of the original, Raidou Kuzunoha is an apprentice detective who moonlights as a Devil Summoner, and he’s been assigned to protect the Capital. Players split their time between investigating 1930s Tokyo and the Dark Realm, where demons await.

RAIDOU Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army releases on June 19, 2025 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, Switch 2, and PC.

Persona5: The Phantom X

Most Persona fans are understandably getting impatient with Atlus, as they eagerly await the official announcement of Persona 6. But the publisher knows just how popular Persona 5 is, considering it originally launched in 2016 and it’s still getting spinoffs. Persona5: The Phantom X might be the least appealing for many fans because it’s a gacha game, but from what we’ve seen from the China and Korea launches, this plays very much like a Persona 5 title with a cast of characters both new and old. As fans of mobile games, we’re looking forward to Persona5: The Phantom X, because honestly, some Persona content is better than no Persona content.

Persona5: The Phantom X releases on June 26, 2025 for Android, iOS, and PC.

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach

If you played the original Death Stranding and still have no idea what it was all about, join the club. Still, we’re extremely excited for Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, and to see a fully unhinged Hideo Kojima unleashed onto the world. Everything that has been shown of the game is a spectacle, and the fact that select media members experienced 30 hours of gameplay during a preview event suggests just how out-of-this-world Death Stranding 2: On the Beach will be.

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach releases on June 26, 2025 for PlayStation 5.

System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster

Yet another remaster on the list is System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster from Nightdive Studios. Bringing the classic first-person shooter RPG to a new generation, the remaster features up to 144 FPS performance, ultra-widescreen support, 50 achievements, enhanced characters, weapon models, and animations, numerous quality-of-life improvements, and optimized controller support. The game is set in the year 2114 as players awake from cryo-sleep on the Von Braun with no memory of who or where they are. Best of all, it’ll support cross-play, co-op multiplayer, and mods.

System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster releases on June 26, 2025 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC.
