Originally debuting at CES 2025, the new Alienware Area-51 gaming laptops are now available for preorder. It’s available in two sizes, the Alienware 16 Area-51 and the Alienware 18 Area-51. Along with different display sizes, the larger 18″ variant comes with a full-sized SD card port, a multi-touch gesture Premium Precision glass RGB LED AlienFX lighting touchpad with integrated scrolling, and an RJ45 ethernet port. The smaller 16″ model has a less fancy multi-touch AlienFX touchpad with integrated scrolling. Other than those features, the rest of the specs are identical between the two.

Currently, each model has two configurations, both of which feature an Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX processor and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 GPU with 16GB of GDDR7 VRAM. The base model comes with 32GB of DDR5 RAM and a 1TB SSD, while a $400 premium gets buyers 64GB of DDR5 RAM and a 2TB SSD. The smaller 16″ display has a 240Hz refresh rate, while the larger 18″ model has a 300Hz refresh rate. Both displays are QHD+ resolution with NVIDIA G-SYNC support.

In terms of ports, the Alienware Area-51 Laptop comes with one global headset jack, USB Type-A ports, Thunderbolt 5 ports, and HDMI 2.1. Considering these are gaming laptops with a 96Whr battery, they are not lightweight. The 16″ version weighs 7.49 pounds while the 18″ model is 9.56 pounds.

For pricing, the 16″ model starts from $3,199.99 while the larger 18″ version is priced from $3,399.99. At the time of publishing, the Alienware Area-51 Gaming Laptop has an estimated arrival date of late April.
