During today’s Letter from the Producer Live broadcast, the Final Fantasy XIV team announced that Patch 7.2: Seekers of Eternity is set to launch on March 25. Along with the date, we’ve got a new trailer detailing what to expect in the upcoming patch, and we found it to be one of the best trailers Final Fantasy XIV has ever delivered. Longtime players are likely accustomed to the content being added in Patch 7.2, but for those who are new to the MMORPG, it will add new Main Scenario Quests, a new dungeon (The Underkeep), a new raid (The Arcadion: Cruiserweight Tier), a new trial (Recollection Normal and Extreme), a new Cornservant side quest, a new Unreal Trial (Hells’ Kier), duty support additions (Sunken Temple of Qarn), and PvP updates with the start of PvP Series 8.
Crafters and gatherers can look forward to Cosmic Exploration in patch 7.21, which is scheduled for April 22. This activity has players collaborating with others from their World to explore the uncharted stars. Players will be excited to hear that Cosmic Exploration will use a separate inventory and that there is permanent sprint. A new star will be added with each major patch.
Patch 7.25, currently scheduled to launch on May 27, will bring new Field Operations with the Occult Crescent. To enter, players must complete the Dawntrail (review) Main Scenario Quest and be level 100. Each instance holds 72 players, and the dungeon within the zone is Forked Tower, where up to 48 players can join. That patch will also introduce Inconceivably Further Hildibrand Adventures.
The team also announced a collaboration with NovelKeys, offering a Final Fantasy XIV Edition Classic TKL mechanical keyboard. For those who do not want a new keyboard but like the keycaps, they are available separately, along with a new deskpad featuring the Scions of the Seventh Dawn.
