Earlier today during the Xbox Developer_Direct, DOOM: The Dark Ages announced its May 15, 2025 release date. For those looking to experience it on PC, id Software and Bethesda have shared the PC requirements for the upcoming first-person shooter. As id Software’s most ambitious title yet, DOOM: The Dark Ages introduces a new generation of idTech with idTech8. Expect to experience a new era of gameplay performance and visual fidelity thanks to new dynamic interactive ray-traced lighting and shadows, higher fidelity image quality, increased gore and destruction, and more.

For those who have played any of the modern DOOM games on PC, you’ll know the magical wizards at id Software are some of the best in the business when it comes to optimization. That said, you’ll still need a ray tracing-capable GPU with 8GB dedicated VRAM or better in order to experience DOOM: The Dark Ages. That means an NVIDIA RTX 2060 Super or better, or an AMD RX 6600 or better. Those looking to play it at Ultra 4K with 60 fps performance will need an RTX 4080 or better or AMD RX 7900 XT or better. DOOM: The Dark Ages will need 100 GB of NVMe SSD space.

See the full PC requirements for DOOM: The Dark Ages below.
