11 bit studios has announced that Frostpunk 2 has already sold over 350,000 copies, and the total estimated sales revenue covers the costs of producing and marketing the game. This is great news for the sequel, which was released on September 20, 2024, and is also available on Game Pass. Given the game’s $44.99 price tag, it has generated close to $16 million in revenue before Steam’s cut. The city-survival game is a follow-up to 2018’s Frostpunk, and it seems the game’s slight delay paid off.
Frostpunk 2 is set 30 years after an apocalyptic blizzard consumes Earth, resulting in a never-ending winter. The game is a management simulator where players take on the role of a Steward, growing a city while managing the challenges that arise. The story mode features a multi-chapter saga, while Frostpunk 2 also includes a sandbox mode called Utopia Builder, allowing players to experiment freely.
We are super happy to announce that we’ve already exceeded 350 000 copies of #Frostpunk 2 sold!
What’s more, the total estimated sales revenue has already covered the costs we spent on producing and marketing the game.
