Dying Light 2 Stay Human won’t be getting another DLC, which might be for the better. Instead, the team at Techland has decided to create a standalone adventure that brings back Kyle Crane, the hero of Dying Light. Don’t worry—if you purchased the Ultimate Edition of Dying Light 2 Stay Human, you’ll receive Dying Light: The Beast at no additional charge. For those who didn’t, you’ll have to wait a bit longer, as the price and release date for Dying Light: The Beast have not been announced yet.
What we do know is that Kyle Crane, who has been held captive and experimented on for more than a decade, has managed to break free. The journey will take players to a new setting, Castor Woods, where they’ll hunt his captors while helping those in need. As a huge fan of the original Dying Light who was disappointed in Dying Light 2, I’m eager to see if Techland can recapture what made the first game so special in this standalone adventure offering over 18 hours of gameplay. While Dying Light 2 Stay Human won’t be receiving another DLC, the team remains committed to its promise of five years of post-launch support.
If you’re interested in Dying Light: The Beast, you have until September 30, 2024 to upgrade to the Ultimate Edition. After that date, Techland will stop selling the Ultimate Edition and Ultimate Upgrade for Dying Light 2 Stay Human. As for the game’s launch date, Techland only said that it’s approaching the point of content completion and will share more information as soon as it’s ready.
