The next installment of the Dragon Age series finally has a release date: October 31, 2024. Heading to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, Dragon Age: The Veilguard puts players into the shoes of Rook, a fully-customizable character who must become the hero Thedas needs. Rook will be joined on the journey by seven companions: Bellara, Davrin, Emmrich, Harding, Lucanis, Neve, and Taash. They all come from iconic factions in Dragon Age lore, with personal storylines and motivations to join the crew in fighting against corrupt Elven gods.
The character-driven RPG will focus on rich storytelling and fantasy worldbuilding, two staples the Dragon Age franchise has built its reputation on for decades. Bioware will look to return to its roots as player choices will impact each character’s story.
Those who preorder the Standard Edition will receive cosmetic Blood Dragon Armor sets for Warrior, Mage, and Rogue classes. Deluxe Edition preorders include three Rook armor sets, six Rook weapons, seven companion armor sets, and seven companion weapons. Subscribers to EA Play Pro will have unlimited access to the EA Play Pro Edition on the launch date.
“As someone who’s been working on Dragon Age for over 15 years, I know just how much our community has been looking forward to this day, and I’m equally excited to share and celebrate that the game will officially launch on October 31,” said John Epler, Creative Director of Dragon Age: The Veilguard. “We wanted to give you the choice to really express yourself, and do that in a world full of adventure and danger. So whether you’re a Warrior, Rogue or a Mage, we can’t wait for you to gear up, gather your party, and set out for another thrilling adventure through Thedas this Halloween.”
