Capcom has announced that Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess has reached 500,000 players following its launch on July 19. Available on Game Pass, Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess is an intriguing action game with elements of tower defense mixed in. While I haven’t had a chance to finish the game yet to write a review, it really feels like a modernized PlayStation 2 game, in a good way. To celebrate the milestone, Capcom is giving players a set of free DLC featuring three enchanting Mazo Talismans, one of which is a collaboration with Okami.
The Jubilee Talisman sends the villagers into a joyous dance when they’re near Soh, while the Dancing Crane Talisman transforms Soh’s normal attacks into a mesmerizing dance, highlighted by bursts of fireworks. The Amaterasu Talisman adds vibrant flowers that bloom underneath Soh’s feet when traveling. Along with the Mazo Talisman gifts, Capcom has added a title update that includes a new sorting function and minor bug fixes.
For those who want to learn more about the game, Capcom is also sharing a new behind-the-scenes series that reveals the creative process behind the game. These episodes will detail how photography, miniature 3D models, and digital effects contributed to the artistic and wonderful aesthetic of Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess. You can find the series on the game’s official X page.
