June’s Nintendo Direct was packed full of surprises, including the announcement of The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. The end of that trailer also revealed the Nintendo Switch Lite Hyrule Edition, a gold Nintendo Switch Lite console with iconic artwork throughout. Set to launch on September 26, 2024—the same date as The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom—preorders for the device are now available. The Nintendo Switch Lite Hyrule Edition costs $209.99, a $10 premium over a standard Switch Lite, but it includes a 12-month Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership, which is valued at $49.99.
The front of the case features a tiny Triforce logo in the bottom right, while the rear has a larger, embossed Hyrule Crest. I’d argue it’s the best-looking Switch Lite yet. Considering the console is nearing the end of its lifecycle, I doubt anything will surpass it. Unfortunately, The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is sold separately and is not bundled with the special edition Switch Lite.
