Changes are heading to Xbox and PC Game Pass, starting with price changes. In the U.S., Game Pass Ultimate is increasing from $16.99 per month to $19.99 per month, while Game Pass Core will increase from $59.99 per year to $74.99 per year. PC Game Pass is also getting an increase from $9.99 per month to $11.99 per month. These price changes will go into effect for new members, while existing members will be affected by the price change starting September 12, 2024, on the following recurring billing charge.
In addition, Game Pass for Console will no longer be available for new members, but those who are already subscribed and have automatic payment renewal enabled will be able to continue their subscriptions. Xbox Game Pass for Console codes will continue to be redeemable until further notice. Xbox announced a new option, called Xbox Game Pass Standard, that will become available in the coming months for $14.99 USD per month. While there aren’t a lot of details yet on the new tier, Xbox said it will include hundreds of games, online console multiplayer, and select member deals and discounts. It sounds like day one titles will be unique to Ultimate subscribers, along with specific entries to the Game Pass Ultimate library, access to EA Play, Xbox Cloud Gaming, Perks, Quests, and discounts on games in the Game Pass library.
