One of our most anticipated games of 2024, Hades II, is nearing its Early Access phase, with Supergiant Games now opening sign-ups for the Hades II Technical Test. The team is conducting this test before the Early Access launch to identify and resolve any technical issues that may have been overlooked. The test will feature significantly less content than the Early Access version and will likely be available to only a limited number of participants. Therefore, signing up does not guarantee a spot in the test.

Those interested can visit the Hades II Steam page and click “Request Access” under “Join the Hades II Playtest.” Supergiant Games notes that invited participants will receive an email from Steam containing download instructions. While starting with a small player base, the test will expand over time. Like many other games’ betas and playtests, expect multiple waves of invites. Once the developers are comfortable that things are stable, they will conclude the Technical Test, with the Early Access launch following shortly thereafter. Currently, there is no set duration for the test, though it is expected to last longer than a week but less than a month.

Save data from the Technical Test will not transfer to Early Access, and the contents include the first major area of the game, along with other early-game characters, systems, and content. Hades II is currently scheduled to launch into Early Access sometime in Q2.

The Technical Test system requirements are relatively basic:

  • OS: Windows 10 64-bit (or Steam Deck)
  • Processor: Dual Core 2.4 Ghz
  • Memory: 4GB RAM
  • Graphics: 2GB VRAM / DirectX 12+ support
