In an effort to remind me of just how old I really am, CD Projekt Red has announced a Floppy Edition of Cyberpunk 2077—a joke that, sadly, many gamers won’t understand. Funny enough, some team members at CD Projekt Red probably don’t get the joke, given the company began by distributing games on CDs. For those wanting the full experience of classic 1990s game installation, the Cyberpunk 2077 Floppy Edition includes 97,619 3.5″ disks. The company’s initial estimates indicate that it would take about two months of non-stop disk swapping to complete the installation.
At least CD Projekt Red chose 3.5″ disks over the 5.25″ floppy disks I fondly remember.
