NieR Re[in]carnation is ending service on April 29, 2024

Square Enix is shutting down another one of its mobile titles, with NieR Re[in]carnation ending service on April 29, 2024, at 10:00 PM Pacific (April 30, 2024, at 1:00 AM Eastern). But unlike Dissidia Final Fantasy Opera Omnia’s closure, which was announced last November, NieR Re[in]carnation will have the opportunity to conclude its story.

The final chapter of The People and the World is planned for release on March 28, 2024. The mobile spinoff for the NieR franchise comes from Applibot, the same developers behind Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis. This closure likely indicates that the team will focus solely on Ever Crisis moving forward, unless Square Enix has plans for another mobile game.

Having originally launched on July 28, 2021, NieR Re[in]carnation had a 2.5-year run, relatively short, even for Square Enix mobile games. The game will host several events leading up to its closure; you can learn more about them here.
