Cyberpunk 2077’s remarkable turnaround continues to impress, as CD Projekt Red reports over five million copies of the Phantom Liberty expansion sold in 2023. That’s a noticeable increase from the 4.3 million figure the company announced in late November. What likely contributed to the growth is the release of Cyberpunk 2077’s Ultimate Edition in early December, which bundles the base game with the Phantom Liberty expansion.

Before Phantom Liberty’s launch, Cyberpunk 2077 received Update 2.0, which brought numerous improvements to the base game. The expansion, released on September 26, added a new district, Dogtown, over 100 new items, an increased level cap, and more.

Having skipped the game’s initial release, I recently purchased the Ultimate Edition and am looking forward to diving into Cyberpunk 2077.
