Hello Games, the team behind No Man’s Sky, has announced their next project: Light No Fire. Sean Murray of Hello Games revealed that Light No Fire has been under development for the past five years by a small team, focusing on adventure, building, survival, and collective exploration. Set on a fantasy planet as large as Earth, the game aims to redefine the survival sandbox genre.

Light No Fire is a multiplayer game that allows players worldwide to meet, build a life, explore, and survive together. Players can collaborate to construct persistent buildings and communities or opt to explore the giant world solo. Hello Games said it is aiming to create a game with a boundless, procedurally generated open world.

The trailer looks impressive, but those who remember No Man’s Sky’s initial trailers might be a bit skeptical. But hopefully Hello Games learned its lessons.
