Capcom has officially announced the release date for the highly-anticipated Dragon’s Dogma 2: March 22, 2024. Earlier today, the company held another Dragon’s Dogma 2 Showcase, confirming the release date and sharing more details on the upcoming RPG. Game director Hideaki Itsuno, alongside producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi, presented an exciting new trailer and gameplay footage. The showcase also shared information on the new Trickster Vocation, various enemies, and gave deeper insights into the story and gameplay choices players will engage with.
In Dragon’s Dogma 2, players experience the tale of the Arisen, a champion whose heart is stolen by the Dragon. The sequel is an original adventure that takes place in a parallel world, containing two nations with different approaches to the Dragon threat. Today’s showcase gave a deeper look at some of the areas players will adventure to, like the elven enclave of Sacred Arbor.
The newly unveiled Trickster Vocation, exclusive to the Arisen, specializes in creating illusions with smoke from its unique weapon, the Censer. Tricksters can use these illusions to deceive enemies into fighting against themselves, while also temporarily increasing the power of Pawns beyond their limits. We also got a first look at the returning Warrior and Sorcerer Vocations that will be available to both the Arisen and Pawns.
Priced at $69.99 for the standard version, Dragon’s Dogma 2 will also offer a Deluxe Edition for $79.99. The Deluxe Edition features the “New Journey Pack,” which includes exclusive in-game items like a custom Camping Kit, a Wakestone, Rift Crystals, and the Dragon’s Dogma Music and Sound Collection, among others. Preorders of the Deluxe Edition include the Ring of Assurance in-game accessory and the Standard Edition preorder bonus, a weapon for each of the four starting vocations.
