Insomniac Games’ latest and greatest is now the fastest-selling PlayStation Studios game in PlayStation history. Sony has announced that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 sold over 2.5 million copies in its first 24 hours, a number that is expected to grow. That figure includes all preorder sales and units bundled with PlayStation 5 consoles. What stands out about the sales of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is that the game is exclusive on the PlayStation 5. As a result, it has a smaller install base compared to other PlayStation Studios titles available on both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 at launch.

The original Spider-Man game, released in 2018, sold 3.3 million units within its first three days. The next sales milestone for Spider-Man 2 could be breaking God of War Ragnarök’s record of 5.1 million sales in its first week.
