Publisher GameMill Entertainment has announced Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2, heading to the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC sometime later this year. It’s a sequel to 2021’s Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl that wasn’t bad for a first attempt, but definitely can be improved upon. Both games are from developers Ludosity and Fair Play Labs, and it’s their take on Super Smash Bros. but with Nickelodeon characters and stages.
Based on the announcement trailer’s description on YouTube, Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 promises to have a bigger and better roster than the original, along with more variety in how each unique character plays. There will be brand new fighters introduced in the sequel, along with returning fan favorites. Expect to see characters like SpongeBob SquarePants, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Squidward Tentacles, Jimmy Neutron, and more. The game is supposedly rebuilt and reimagined from the ground up to redefine what a Nickelodeon fighting game can be. It promises to deliver new and revamped visuals, audio, animations, modes, stages, mechanics, taunts, and move sets.
In addition, the game will launch with a unique single-player campaign with roguelike elements. In the campaign, players will fight to stop Danny Phantom archvillain Vlad Plasmius from taking over the Nickelodeon universe. GameMill Entertainment was also quick to address one of the major issues from the first game by announcing a fully voiced cast of fighters, including the talents of Tom Kenny and Bill Fagerbakke from SpongeBob SquarePants.
