Beyond Good & Evil is getting a 20th Anniversary Edition, launching on June 25 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC. The game will also be available on Amazon Luna, GeForce Now, and is included on day one with a Ubisoft+ Premium subscription. This version of the game includes updated visuals at 4K resolution and 60 frames per second, improved controls, and various quality-of-life features. There’s also a new in-game treasure hunt and Speedrun Mode, and a special anniversary gallery. Limited Run Games will also be offering a physical edition and Collector’s Edition, with preorders going live on July 12.

For those unfamiliar with Beyond Good & Evil, it tells the story of Jade and her adoptive uncle Pey’j as they explore a watery planet called Hillys. It borrows gameplay elements from a variety of genres and, over the years, has become a cult classic. A sequel was announced in 2018, but since then, Ubisoft has revealed very little about it. The company is hinting that it’s still coming, as the new treasure hunt feature in the 20th Anniversary Edition offers cosmetic rewards that tie into Jade’s past and the pirates of Beyond Good and Evil 2. Lastly, some of the quality-of-life features in the 20th Anniversary Edition include autosaving, cross-saves, remapped controls, and the ability to skip cutscenes.
