Somehow, January has already come and gone, which means a new month is upon us with several highly anticipated games. While January was mainly filled with remastered titles and ports, February features several new releases across a range of genres. Plenty of people are already looking forward to Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, while others, like our group, can’t wait until the end of the month for Monster Hunter Wilds. To keep us busy until then, there’s something for everyone, from Sid Meier’s Civilization VII to Avowed, and Lost Records: Bloom & Rage to Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii.

Set in the same world as Pillars of Eternity, Eora, Avowed takes players to the Living Lands, a mysterious land full of adventure and danger. Avowed is a first-person fantasy action RPG where players take on the role of an envoy of Aedyr and are sent off to investigate rumors of a spreading plague throughout the Living Lands. For those unfamiliar with Obsidian Entertainment, the studio is behind hits like Fallout: New Vegas, South Park: The Stick of Truth, Pillars of Eternity, The Outer Worlds, Grounded, and Pentiment.

Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii
Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio is on a roll, and it doesn’t appear that the team is slowing down anytime soon. The next entry in the Like a Dragon series is Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, starring Goro Majima in an over-the-top, modern-day pirate adventure. The former yakuza is now a pirate captain leading a crew on a hunt for lost memories and a legendary treasure. It’s the type of crazy antics RGG Studio is now known for, with the growth in popularity of the Yakuza series, which is now referred to as the Like a Dragon series. Monster Hunter Wilds
It’s our most anticipated game of the year, primarily because it offers one of the best co-op gaming experiences. We expect to spend hundreds of hours together playing Monster Hunter Wilds if our playtimes in Monster Hunter: World and Monster Hunter Rise are any indication. Besides, it’s been nearly four years since the release of Monster Hunter Rise, so many of us are experiencing severe withdrawal symptoms at this point. There are very few franchises that deliver co-op gameplay like Monster Hunter does, and each new entry in the series pushes it forward and makes it better. Monster Hunter Wilds continues to evolve the formula, and we can’t wait to pick up our favorite weapons and hunt down our favorite monsters.
