Already, the first three months of 2025 have delivered some amazing gaming experiences, including Monster Hunter Wilds, Split Fiction, and Xenoblade Chronicles X. While things do slow down a bit in April, it’s still home to one of our most anticipated games of the year, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. Everything we’ve seen about the RPG looks impressive, and we’re extremely excited to dive into the full experience. If RPGs don’t interest you, however, there are still plenty of games to look forward to in April, including South of Midnight and Monaco 2, while PlayStation gamers will get their hands on two previously Xbox console exclusives: Indiana Jones and the Great Circle and Forza Horizon 5. Meanwhile, PC gamers get The Last of Us Part II Remastered just in time for the second season of the HBO series.

Take a look at FullCleared’s picks of the top games to play in April 2025 below.

The Last of Us Part II Remastered (PC)

The Last of Us Part II Remastered

The controversial sequel to The Last of Us is finally launching on PC and features all the improvements and additions from the PlayStation 5 version, including the No Return roguelike survival mode. The game continues the story of Ellie and Joel, five years later, but also stars many new characters, including Abby (seen above). While I didn’t find it as enjoyable as the original, The Last of Us Part II is still an extremely well-crafted game, though it could have benefited from being a couple of hours shorter. For those experiencing it for the first time on PC, hopefully the port is better than the first game, which took several patches to fix.

The Last of Us Part II Remastered releases on April 3, 2025 for PC.

South of Midnight

South of Midnight

From Compulsion Games, the creators of Contrast and We Happy Few, comes South of Midnight. This third-person action-adventure game is set in the American Deep South and puts players in control of Hazel. The journey explores the mythos and creatures of Southern folklore, following a disaster that strikes Hazel’s hometown. She’ll become a magical mender of broken bonds and spirits called a Weaver as she untangles the webs of her own family’s past. I’m hoping I can squeeze in a playthrough of this between finishing Xenoblade Chronicles X and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.

South of Midnight releases on April 8, 2025 for Xbox Series X|S and PC.

The Talos Principle: Reawakened

The Talos Principle: Reawakened

Rebuilt with Unreal Engine 5, The Talos Principle: Reawakened takes players back to a world of thought-provoking puzzles with overhauled visuals. Serving as the definitive edition of The Talos Principle, it will feature new content and enhanced gameplay to go along with its upgraded presentation. Even veterans can look forward to an all-new chapter called In the Beginning. Considering the original was released in 2014 and a sequel was released in 2023, now is the perfect time to experience The Talos Principle if you haven’t already.

The Talos Principle: Reawakened releases on April 10, 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Monaco 2

Monaco 2

I always thought that Monaco: What’s Yours Is Mine is one of those games everyone should play if they have friends to play it with. Hopefully, that holds true for its sequel, Monaco 2, which features an updated 3D art style, new characters, and procedurally generated levels for tons of replayability. If you’re unfamiliar with Monaco, it’s a heist game where you team up with others to rob the city blind. If it lives up to the same fun gameplay as the original, Monaco 2 has the makings of a fantastic modern co-op game.

Monaco 2 releases on April 10, 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Lost Records: Bloom & Rage – Tape 2

Lost Records: Bloom & Rage - Tape 2

I’m actually really looking forward to playing Lost Records: Bloom & Rage – Tape 2 to see if the team at Don’t Nod sticks the landing. I found the first tape interesting, but I also found it difficult to review on its own since the game’s conclusion will largely determine whether all the character and world building were worth it. Nevertheless, the premise is interesting, and the characters are decently written. I’m looking forward to seeing if the mystery pays off with the game’s conclusion. If this is the first time you’re hearing about Lost Records: Bloom & Rage, it’s a story-driven game from the original creators of Life Is Strange. You can learn more about it by reading my review of Tape 1.

Lost Records: Bloom & Rage – Tape 2 releases on April 15, 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle (PS5)

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle isn’t the type of game you would expect from developer MachineGames, which is best known for modern Wolfenstein titles. But if there is a developer that knows how to make it satisfying to beat up Nazis, MachineGames is it. What was previously an Xbox console exclusive is heading to PlayStation 5, just four months after its original launch in December 2024. If you’re an Indy fan, there is an entire adventure waiting for you that you will surely enjoy, especially considering it has a better plot and writing than some of the modern movies. If you’re a PlayStation fan who has been missing what the Uncharted series brought, you’ll want to check out Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle releases on April 17, 2025 for PlayStation 5.

Lunar Remastered Collection

Lunar Remastered Collection

Classic JRPG fans who grew up playing Lunar games will be excited to hear that the Lunar Remastered Collection is finally arriving in April. The collection includes Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete and Lunar 2: Eternal Blue Complete, both of which are getting a makeover with enhanced graphics, audio, and quality-of-life improvements. Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete has players assuming the role of Alex, an aspiring Dragonmaster who sets off on an adventure with his friends to take on the Magic Emperor. Lunar 2, meanwhile, follows Hiro and his friends as they embark on a journey to search for the Goddess Althena. If you’re craving a classic JRPG experience, this one should be worth picking up.

Lunar Remastered Collection releases on April 18, 2025 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC.

Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves

Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves

It’s finally time—a new entry in the Fatal Fury series is coming after 26 years. Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves is looking to capture some of that booming fighting game audience, which has seen significant growth in recent years thanks to more accessible games like Street Fighter 6 and Tekken 8. For many, this Fatal Fury game will be their first, but for those who grew up with the series, they’ll get to look forward to an initial roster of 17 characters. The game will take a page from Street Fighter 6’s book by offering two control schemes. Arcade Style is what veterans will be used to, with precise, technical inputs, while Smart Style allows players to perform special moves and combos using directional inputs and single button presses. The game will also feature a single-player RPG mode for those who prefer not to play against others online.

Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves releases on April 24, 2025 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

It’s not just my most anticipated game for the month of April; Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is one of my most anticipated games of the year. It’s the first game from new developer Sandfall Interactive and everything we’ve seen so far looks fantastic. The turn-based RPG features unique real-time mechanics to make battles more immersive. The game’s story centers on the Paintress, who paints her cursed number upon her monolith once a year. Everyone of that age turns to smoke and fades away, which means that year after year, that number ticks down and more are erased. With only one year left, Expedition 33 sets off to put an end to the Paintress once and for all. The game features a star-studded cast that includes Charlie Cox from Daredevil, Jennifer English (Shadowheart) from Baldur’s Gate 3, and Andy Serkis, who needs no introduction. The game’s main story is around 30 hours long, and the developers shared there’s about an equal amount of side content, which means fully completing the game is around 60 hours.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 releases on April 24, 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Days Gone Remastered

Days Gone Remastered

Whether Days Gone truly needed a remaster can be debated, but it is more than just enhanced visuals. Days Gone Remastered also delivers new game modes, including Speedrun Mode, Permadeath Mode, and a survival arcade mode called Horde Assault. Horde Assault is arguably the most exciting for those who have already experienced Days Gone, as most would likely agree that fighting against the hordes of Freakers is the most enjoyable. In this mode, players put their skills to the test by surviving as long as possible against increased horde sizes and various other enemies to achieve a high score. Speedrun Mode lets players race against the clock to play through the story as quickly as possible, while Permadeath Mode is just as it sounds: one death and it’s all over. The game also adds an enhanced photo mode, which makes sense considering how beautifully some areas of the game are done.

Days Gone Remastered releases on April 25, 2025 for PlayStation 5.

Forza Horizon 5 (PS5)

Forza Horizon 5

Another Xbox console exclusive heading to PlayStation 5 is Forza Horizon 5, and it’s a great one. Playground Games has done a fantastic job with the Forza Horizon series, and the latest entry puts players into the open world of Mexico for a wide variety of driving, including plenty of off-road activities. If you are new to the franchise and have any remote interest in cars or going fast, Forza Horizon is the most fun franchise right now for the world of motorsports, assuming you’re not looking for real-world tracks.

Forza Horizon 5 releases on April 29, 2025 for PlayStation 5.
