Mobile game Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis is set to launch on iOS and Android on September 7, 2023. Today, Square Enix has shared a new trailer for the upcoming title, where players will be able to not only relive the most memorable moments from Final Fantasy VII, but also experience the journey of a young hero Sephiroth. While it is a mobile game, Ever Crisis will feature both classic and new stories within the Final Fantasy VII universe. You can read our first impressions from the game here.
The release of the trailer came with a note from Director Tetsuya Nomura: “With the Countdown to Launch Trailer, we’ve started the countdown to the worldwide launch of FF7EC. The game has evolved since the closed beta as we’ve addressed much of your feedback. I hope you continue to build excitement towards FF7R as you play FF7EC.”
We’re cautiously optimistic about the release of Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis. Square Enix has been on both ends of the spectrum when it comes to mobile games, with titles like Dissidia Final Fantasy Opera Omnia being very generous with its player base, while other titles are not so much. Hopefully it can keep us entertained enough while we impatiently wait for the release of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, the highly anticipated sequel to Final Fantasy VII Remake.
