After all these years, Xbox Live Gold is going to become a thing of the past, starting on September 14. Microsoft has announced its replacement, Xbox Game Pass Core, priced at $9.99 USD per month or $59.99 USD per year. Game Pass Core gives players access to online multiplayer, a catalog of over 25 games on console, and member deals and discounts. The new plan also gets rid of Games with Gold, which will come to an end on September 1.
Xbox shared the initial list of titles in the Game Pass Core catalog and promised that new titles will be added two to three times per year. More will be announced ahead of the September 14 launch, but here is what we know so far:
- Among Us
- Descenders
- Dishonored 2
- Doom Eternal
- Fable Anniversary
- Fallout 4
- Fallout 76
- Forza Horizon 4
- Gears 5
- Grounded
- Halo 5: Guardians
- Halo Wars 2
- Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice
- Human Fall Flat
- Inside
- Ori & The Will of the Wisps
- Psychonauts 2
- State of Decay 2
- The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited
If you’re a current Xbox Live Gold member, your subscription will automatically transition to Game Pass Core on September 14. There will be no change in pricing and you’ll get immediate access to the new library of games. You’ll be able to access any Xbox One games previously redeemed through Games with Gold so long as you remain a Game Pass Core or Game Pass Ultimate member. You will also retain any Xbox 360 titles redeemed through Games with Gold in your library, regardless of your subscription status.
