Kuro Games revealed the full details on Wuthering Waves Version 3.5 today, along with setting the date for the game’s previously announced XBOX Series X|S launch. The free-to-play open-world action RPG arrives on XBOX on July 10, the same day the 3.5 update goes live across its other platforms.
Wuthering Waves first launched on PC and mobile back in May 2024, with a PlayStation 5 version following in January 2025 and a Steam release after that. XBOX rounds out the major platforms, although it would probably do well on Switch 2. Kuro confirmed back in March that XBOX Game Pass subscribers would receive exclusive in-game benefits when the game arrives, though the studio still hasn’t spelled out exactly what those are.
Version 3.5, titled “Blade of Past Resounds, Lingering Dream Hymns,” centers on a new region called Mengzhou: Land of Xuanfang and pushes the main story forward into Chapter IV. On the character side, it adds two new Resonators in Yangyang: Xuanling and Suisui, along with Rover: Electro, which gives the player’s Rover Electro builds to experiment with.
Rounding out the update are new Resonator and Weapon Convene banners, a couple of fresh weapons in Azure Oath and Firstlight’s Herald, and a slate of limited-time events like Gifts of Aftertune and In Search of Lost Jade for players chasing rewards. Kuro is also shipping a batch of quality-of-life changes, including expanded voice-over customization, refined story autoplay, better guidebook access and filtering, PC performance support, and mobile resource management improvements.
As for the game itself, I’ve had a soft spot for it since launch. When the PlayStation 5 version was announced, I wrote that I’d been playing casually most days, and that it strikes a nice balance between giving you plenty to do and letting you clear your dailies quickly when you’re short on time. I also said the story had improved but still needed work at that point, while the characters were well designed and the combat was excellent. With Chapter IV continuing in 3.5, XBOX players will finally get their first chance to see how all of that holds up.
