WoW Surpasses 10M Subscribers with Warlords Launch
World of Warcraft is back up to over 10-million subscribers, thanks to the recent launch of the Warlords of Draenor expansion. In addition, Blizzard Entertainment announced that Warlords of Draenor sold through over 3.3-million copies within the first 24 hours of the expansion’s availability. The launch wasn’t as smooth as Blizzard would have liked, with server issues and queue time plaguing players to the point that the company is compensating all active subscribers with five free days of game time.

Warlords of Draenor is World of Warcraft‘s fifth expansion and is available in Standard Edition for $49.99 and Digital Deluxe Edition for $69.99. There is also a retail-exclusive Collector’s Edition available for $89.99 and all versions of the expansion comes with one level-90 character boost.
“We’re thrilled that so many players jumped in to play Warlords of Draenor on day one and are having a great time with the new content,” said Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. “We poured a lot of hard work and passion into this expansion, and we appreciate all the kind words from players and the overwhelming support they continue to show for World of Warcraft.”
