At BlizzCon 2013 this past weekend, Blizzard Entertainment confirmed that Warlords of Draenor is the next expansion for its popular World of Warcraft MMORPG. But that isn’t the only expansion being worked on currently, according to Blizzard CEO Mike Morhaime. In fact, the team is already working on the next expansion that will follow Warlords of Draenor.

In an interview with Polygon, Morhaime revealed that Blizzard is going to focus on adding content as often and quickly as possible to its MMORPG giant and that the company views “expansions as a huge opportunity to do that.” In fact, Morhaime acknowledged in the interview that World of Warcraft expansions need to be released “on a faster cadence than we have in the past.”

So ultimately, Blizzard Entertainment is shifting staff and personnel to ensure that the World of Warcraft team is able to work on expansions and contents at a quicker pace than we’ve seen in the past. Undoubtedly the decision to expedite World of Warcraft expansions is tied into the fact that Blizzard’s Titan team was recently cut back and the unannounced game is still a ways off.
