Unknown to most gamers, Valve had a small office in San Francisco that housed just three employees. After eight months of operation, that office has been closed according to recent online resumes from ex-Valve employees. One of those employees, Steve Desilets, has updated his LinkedIn profile which described the San Francisco office as an “experimental casual studio.”
The other two employees were Jeff Gates and Tod Semple, ex-Popcap and Blizzard developers. All three ex-employees have backgrounds in developing mobile games and applications, which makes gamers wonder if Valve was looking into developing casual mobile games. Unfortunately, no details beyond that have been revealed on the studio.
