Occasionally, tech companies release products that leave us scratching our heads. This time, it’s ASUS with its Fragrance Mouse, and we assure you, this isn’t an early April Fools’ Day joke. Available in Iridescent White or Rose Clay, the ASUS Fragrance Mouse features an actual internal fragrance compartment with a refillable vial for aromatic oils. I’m not exactly sure who asked for this, but I guess it’s not the worst idea we’ve ever seen.

In terms of design, it’s a pretty standard, run-of-the-mill compact mouse with a gently curved thumb rest on its right side. It’s the removable vial that can be washed and refilled with different scents that really sets it apart from the crowd. The feet are made from PTFE material to make it smoothly glide over surfaces, and users can choose from three different DPI levels: 1200 dpi, 1600 dpi, and 2400 dpi. ASUS claims it is equipped with low-noise mouse switches rated for 10 million nearly silent clicks. For connectivity, choose between dual-mode 2.4GHz wireless or Bluetooth. Like other mice in this category, the ASUS Fragrance Mouse is powered by a single AA battery.

No pricing or availability has been announced in the press release, but if you’re interested, keep an eye out here.
