Trion Worlds has announced its latest game, titled Trove and being billed as a Massive Multiverse Adventure. At first glance, Trove might appear like a Minecraft clone, but Trion is doing several things to set it apart from the competition.
Trove will be an open-ended voxel adventure with fully buildable and destructible worlds and Trion hopes that it’ll be able to spawn new worlds often, offering unique combinations of environments and resources to discover on a regular basis. In fact, worlds will vanish or renew as quest objectives are completed with procedurally-generated dungeons offering surprises and rewards at every corner.
Lastly, Trove will offer players the ability to create their own trans-dimensional home that is completely customizable and will persist across worlds and servers. Though platforms were not announced, Trion’s most recent release was Defiance, which is available on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and the PC. It’s a safe bet that Trove will at least be available on the PC, but don’t be surprised if it makes its way to consoles as well.
