If you’ve been a Blizzard fan from the early days of the original Warcraft, you’d probably find it hard to believe that one day you’d be staring at a video trailer featuring an Orc and a Panda facing off in an epic battle. But that’s exactly what World of Warcraft has become, for better or worse. The company has released the official trailer for its upcoming Patch 5.4: Siege of Orgrimmar where players will get to venture on a new three-wing, 14-boss raid to take down the Warchief Garrosh Hellscream.
Several new features will also be joining Patch 5.4, including Connected Realms we detailed earlier. In addition, Blizzard will be adding a new raid mode called Flexible, which will allow players to raid in a group size from 10 to 25, with the difficulty automatically adjusting to provide an appropriately challenging experience. There will also be a new feature added called Proving Grounds, where players can take on solo trials to practice or learn a new class role. Each trial will be available in multiple difficulties, from Bronze through Gold, and will also provide an Endless mode.
Patch 5.4 will also add a new zone to Mists of Pandaria, called The Timeless Isle. Present on that new zone will be five world bosses, a pet battle tournament, and much more. A new Legendary Quest is also being added titled Judgment of the Black Prince. It will be the epic conclusion to the Legendary quest line, rewarding players with unique cloaks imbued with powerful new abilities. Lastly, Blizzard is redesigning its Arena System, which will no longer be tied to Battlegroups. Players will also be able to queue for the Arena just like the Rated Battleground system.
Patch 5.4 is currently available for public testing on the Mists of Pandaria Public Test Realms. Watch the official trailer for Siege of Orgrimmar below.
