The Year of Luigi will officially end on March 18, 2014, Nintendo has announced on Miiverse. That means Luigi got quite the celebration, considering the Year of Luigi actually kicked off on February 14, 2013. So technically speaking, Luigi got to celebrate 13 months and five days for his special year – we suppose it’s only fair considering how often Luigi is neglected.

Games released during the Year of Luigi include New Super Luigi U, Mario & Luigi: Dream Team, Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon and Dr. Luigi. According to Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto, once the Year of Luigi concludes on March 18, “the Year of Luigi Community and its Developers’ Room will sadly no longer accept new posts or comments.”
