Developer All Possible Futures’ The Plucky Squire is set to launch on September 17, and PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscribers will have access to the game at launch. The game tells the story of the brave warrior Jot, who leaps from the pages of his storybook world into a three-dimensional realm. His travels won’t be a walk in the park, though, as he’ll encounter all sorts of dangerous threats on his journey, from huge insects to the cruel wizard Humpgrump’s minions.

Aiding Jot on his journey is the shopkeeper Martina, but she’s not too charitable. Jot will have to collect inspiration in the form of illuminating lightbulbs to trade with Martina. Inspiration also unlocks combat moves for Jot, like the ability to throw his sword at enemies. Other items from Martina’s shop include scrolls, which reveal more about the land of Mojo.

The Plucky Squire’s creative mix of 2D and 3D worlds introduces interesting gameplay possibilities, and we can’t wait to dive into the adventure next month.
